People with fragile x syndrome have a normal life expectancy and can eventually learn to live and function normally. A child with fragile x needs a lot of attention and proper care because it will take them longer to learn the normal things such as toilet training, manners, reading,hygiene and other things. Often times a fragile x child will be hypersensitive and their parents will need to know calming strategies for when they over react, especially during doctors appointments and trips to places like the grocery store. Fragile x victims live their entire lives with learning disorders. I couldnt find any information about wether or not a fragile x victim is able to eventually live alone.
